Bring Me The Head of Kyle Bobby Dunn, by Kyle Bobby Dunn, is about as minimal as it gets when it comes to recent ambient music. However minimal it is, there’s some incredible depth to the textures and soundscapes and this is by far my favorite album to listen to when going to sleep. I don’t know if I’d recommend this during the day because it’s too easy to zone out to. The beauty of this album is made entirely with guitars and effects pedals, something that, as a musician and guitarist, really gets me into exploring sounds like this when I’m playing. Dunn gets comparisons to William Basinski and Harold Budd, among others. He’s put out several full length albums and EP’s since 2008, and I highly suggest checking out more than the single album included below.
