Tell us about the location in the photos.
Banff is located in the Rocky Mountains 4 hours from Edmonton, Alberta, where I live, or one hour from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I try to visit a few times a year to take in its natural beauty.
The majestic mountains and sheer size of the landscape makes it ideal for shooting. Wandering off from the usual tourist spots I really try to find a memorable view. I feel very lucky to be located so close to a wonderful place and encourage everyone to experience it.
How did you get started in photography?
I was always a visual person that took the arts seriously and I slowly gravitated to dropping the paintbrush and picking up the camera. After joining Instagram I felt a real push to try to produce higher quality photos. I found myself going on hikes, walks and drives mainly motivated by posting photos.
Does anything in particular influence your photography style?
I believe the guys at VSCO.co really sparked my creativity with their desktop products and iPhone app. Most of my inspiration is from Instagram, especially users Diggerness, Owen Perry, and Chris Ozer.
What photography gear do you use?
Nikon V1 (30-110mm + 18.5mm + 6.7-13mm) and iPhone 5
Are there any products you swear by?
I use Adobe Lightroom with VSCO on a iMac, and various apps on the iPhone. My favourite iPhone Apps would be VSCOCam, Mextures, and Snapseed.
What is your dream adventure photography location?
I have always wanted to visit Tahiti and of course explore more of my own country Canada.
